Seiko watches
Seiko watches for men
Seiko is a Japanese company, started by Kintaro Hattori, which, since 1881, produces and sells watches all over the world. Synonymous with innovation and avant-garde, Seiko has over the years been able to carve out an increasingly important place in the trade of watches of all kinds.
From 1913 to the present: a bit of history
In 1913, Seiko decided to make its debut on the market with “Laurel”, the first wristwatch created entirely in Japan. In 1969, the world’s first vertical-mounted automatic chronograph with column wheel was launched.
At the same time, the world’s first quartz wristwatch, the famous “Quartz Astron”, is launched. In 1973, Seiko was the first company in the world to make a quartz watch with a 6-digit LCD digital display and in 1975, it was the first company to launch a multi-function digital watch.
Another turning point of pure innovation will be in 1988 with the first watch in the world with “Kinetic” technology; this technology allows to power the watch thanks to the body movements of those who wear this watch. In 2012 we have the debut of “Astron GPS Solar”: as the name suggests, this clock is able to adapt itself to all time zones of the world, by coupling to satellites in orbit around the Earth; an example of absolute precision which is difficult to improve and replicable.
